Welcome to Uppsala University and Visby!
Soon you will join us in Sweden, Gotland and Visby and get ready for your studies and student life. We are looking forward to your arrival and hope you are too!

Activate and register

On the University’s general welcome page, you’ll get information on how you as a new student activate your student account and how to register for your courses.
Recommended Arrival Days – 24-25 august
24 and 25 August, we offer a welcome service and shuttle service at Visby airport and Visby ferry terminal for certain flights and ferry arrivals. Please check for details and sign up for this service by registering on this link.
If you arrive outside the official Arrival Days, do not worry. Check out how to get to Campus Gotland from Visby airport and the ferry terminal.
Welcome Centre in the Reception at Campus Gotland
From 22 August, you are warmly welcome to visit the Student Services to pick up your welcome folder, student account details and Campus Card. The Student Services is located in the Reception at Campus Gotland, Cramérgatan 3, and has its regular opening hours from 08:00 to 16:30, Monday – Friday.
Services at the Welcome Centre include:
- Welcome package
- One-time passcode for the student internet account (requires formal ID, bring your passport)
- Campus Card – once you have been notified by email that it is ready for pickup
Staff from the International Office, as well as student hosts, will also be on hand.
ORIENTATION DAY 26 AUGUST
All new international students are invited to the Orientation Day, Friday 26 August. We recommend everyone to participate!
The Orientation Day programme is designed to welcome and introduce international students to the university, Campus Gotland, and to Visby. The introdution will include practical information, 'fika' and a guided tour around the premises. Detailed information about Orientation Day in our calendar.
INFORMATION SESSIONS ONLINE
Each new academic year, the university holds a number of information sessions for new international students, to help you prepare for your studies and life in Sweden. We will hold a number of online information sessions with practical information for new students. Programme for the information online sessions 22-25 August.
WELCOME ACTIVITIES
New students at Campus Gotland will be invited to various activities. These will include a guided tour in medieval Visby, a history lecture, a tourist train tour, and a bus trip. Go to our checklist to find the events listed with links to detailed information.
WELCOME RECEPTION 29 AUGUST
The welcome reception for all new students at Campus Gotland will be held on Monday August 29 in St. Nicolai ruin in Visby. The reception will include a formal welcome ceremony. Details for the welcome reception.

On Monday 29 August, there will be a Welcome Reception for all new students at Campus Gotland.

Welcome book from Campus Gotland

In the Welcome book 2022/2023, we present the most essential information you will need for your study period at Campus Gotland. Download the English version of the book (31 page pdf).
When you arrive in Visby you will receive a printed booklet.
Current student? Welcome back!
If you are a current student at Uppsala University and if you have been admitted to one or more of our courses autumn semester 2022, you may register for your courses from 29 July. If you have problems to register, please contact the Student Services at Campus Gotland.
It is of most importance that you get registered in time in order to not risk losing your place. Please note that different courses may have different periods of registration. There is always a last day for registration, and the deadline for registration may vary slightly between different courses.
