Mental Health Week 12 October

Welcome to the Student Health Services' Mental Health Week: 10-14 October, 2022! This week is organised in connection with the annual international Mental Health Day, which is 10 October.

The Student Health Service wants you to feel good while you study. We also know that you may not always feel well and that life as a student can sometimes be challenging in many ways.

Where: Norra Hansegatan 18
What: You who are a student are welcome to try out selcted group training classes during Mental Health Week. For booking: Call 0498-211313 and provide the code: Campus vecka 41.

All day - Open house and free training at Form Gotland
Where: Visborgsallén 33 or at Norra Hansegatan 2
What: You who are a student are welcome to try out training f for free throughout the week, gym and group training during staffed opening hours at Form Visborg and Form City. You need to show your Mecenat- or Campus card. To secure a place on the group training session, book your session at the reception or on telephone 0498-652240. ! 10:00-12:30 - Ask us about sex and mental health
Where: Inside the main entrance at Campus Gotland
What: Gotland youth clinic is for you under the age of 23, regardless of gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation. At the youth clinic you can get help with everything related to the body, sex, relationships and mental health. Free of charge and with professional secrecy”. 16:00-17:00 - Creative writing for confidence and enjoyment
Online via Zoom
What: Writing is one of the ways to gain distance or perspective on stressful subjects whether they directly impact the writer alone or are concerns shared by others. And in times of crisis such as climate change or pandemic, matters that cause anxiety to whole communities also affect each individual in personal ways. In this workshop, we will draw inspiration from samples of contemporary fiction and poetry, to find fresh ideas for telling stories of your own.

Sofia Ahlberg is Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor at the Department of English, Uppsala University.

16:00-17:00 - Try 'forest bathing'! Why is nature so benificial to us?
outdoors in a green area near you, and via Zoom
What: Go out into a forest area, park or garden, alone or with a few others and join on Zoom via your mobile phone! Anna María Pálsdóttir is doing research at SLU on health-promoting outdoor environments. She will guide you through an exercise where you get to try mindfulness in nature, and then she tells us about the theories behind!

16:30-18:00 - Trans separatist group meeting
Rindi castle 
What: Trans separatist group meeting for anyone who has trans experience, is gender non-conforming or are having thoughts regarding their gender identity. Together we'll hang out and talk about living outside the social gender norms and the pros and cons with being out in a small society such as Gotland. Everyone is welcome! 19:00-20:30 - Rainbow Café
Where: Rindi castle 
What: Open Rainbow Café for everyone under the lgbtqia+ umbrella and/or living outside the social norms for sexuality and gender identity. Along with friendly conversations, can also get answers to questions about protection against discrimination and victimization during your time at Campus Gotland. Everyone is welcome! Mental Health Week is organised to draw attention to the importance of mental health and well-being. During the week, lectures, workshops and activities are offered with the aim of informing, helping, inspiring and illuminating mental health and well-being.
