Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor for Campus Gotland
As from 7 June 2023, a new organisational model at Campus Gotland is in place, with the Campus Gotland Board and the Gotland Committee. The remaining step is to appoint an Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor, based on the call for applications during spring 2023.
While the recruitment is in progress, Olle Jansson’s mandate as Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor on Campus Gotland has been extended until the end of September 2023.
The Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor for Campus Gotland has a strategic role as well as an operative and coordinating role for Campus Gotland. Amongst other things, this means that he is chief rapporteur and will work for the Campus Gotland Board. At the same time, the Gotland Committee provides advice to the Adviser.
The principal task of the Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor is, in addition to specific work on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, to drive the development of activities at Campus Gotland.
'I hope to help influence activities towards maintaining high quality, innovative teaching and learning, and a strong research presence. I want Campus Gotland to be an engine of development and a meeting place for regional development here on Gotland,' says Olle Jansson.
Campus Gotland is one of six development goals in the area 'renewing education and research' in Goals and strategies for Uppsala University. Above all, it deals with the fact that education and research environment at Campus Gotland offers particularly good opportunities for testing new paths and exploiting the potential of multi- and interdisciplinarity and regional collaboration. Campus Gotland will contribute to the capacity of the University to meet the challenges facing society in the future, for example in the area of sustainable development.
Together with the Administrative Manager of Campus Gotland, the Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor is also responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of Campus Gotland and for representing Uppsala University and Campus Gotland in the region.
