Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor for Campus Gotland
The Vice-Chancellor of Uppsala University has a number of individuals attached to his office, each bearing the title Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor, who are tasked with working on pan-faculty matters in conjunction with the University management.
The Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor for Campus Gotland is Olle Jansson and he is one of six Advisers to the Vice Chancellor at Uppsala University.
The Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor for Campus Gotland has a strategic role as well as an operative and coordinating role for Campus Gotland. Amongst other things, this means that he chairs the Planning Council for Campus Gotland.
The principal task of the Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor is, in addition to specific work on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, to drive the development of activities at Campus Gotland.
“I hope to help influence activities towards maintaining high quality, innovative teaching and learning, and a strong research presence. I want Campus Gotland to be an engine of development and a meeting place for regional development here on Gotland,” says Olle Jansson.
Many of the areas of development envisaged for Campus Gotland are set out in the Programme for Campus Gotland. Amongst other things, they reveal a focus on strengthening conditions for multi- and cross-disciplinary activities, strengthening internationalisation and promoting regional collaboration.
Together with the Administrative Manager of Campus Gotland, the Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor is also responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of Campus Gotland and for representing Uppsala University and Campus Gotland in the region.
