Recommendation on distance education to be withdrawn

29 May 2020

The Government announced today that the recommendation on distance education at higher education institutions in Sweden will be withdrawn from 15 June.

However, the institutions must continue to follow the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Sweden on maintaining distance and limiting the number of people at public gatherings to a maximum of 50. The announcement means that departments can resume on-campus teaching, though teaching will be digital where necessary to comply with the recommendations. In light of the announcement, the Vice-Chancellor will issue a new decision shortly about the summer and autumn.
